Academic calendar begins every year in (Bhadra/ Ashoj or Aug/ Sep), and ends in (Bhadra/ Ashoj or Aug/ Sep). The major holiday breaks are: festive holidays, winter vacations, summer vacation, etc.

Registration for the exam is done at the end of each academic year. For registration, students must fill out the exam form and submit it in the administration office. Students also need to submit other documents as mentioned by CTEVT.

The following grading system will be adopted:
Distinction: 80% or above.
First Division: 65% or above.
Pass Division: Pass aggregate to below 65%
Method of Evaluation System
The student’s academic performance will be evaluated internally and externally (through final examination). The internal evaluation will be done by the teaching faculty and the external (final) examination will be conducted by the office of the controller of the examinations of the CTEVT. The distribution of 100% marks is 20% for the internal evaluation and 60% for the external examination.
Internal Evaluation System
Evaluation for each subject both in theory and practical is done in every four months with feedback. Weightage of theory and practical marks will be according to the course structure. Internal evaluation carries 20% of the total marks and is performed by the teaching faculty of the Institute.
External Evaluation System
This includes a final written exam and practical exam conducted by the CTEVT. In this evaluation system, weightage of theory and practical marks will be according to the course structure. Final exam carries 80% of the total marks. Students must pass internal exams (both theory and practical) to appear in the final examination. The provision of re-examination will be as per CTEVT policy. Practical examination can only be administered by laboratory medicine technologists/Scientists and experts in the respective subjects. One examiner in one setting can evaluate not more than 20 students per day for final practical examination. Practical examination is administered in actual situation on relevant subjects with provision of at least one external examiner from the concerned or affiliating institute. Practical log book duly signed by supervisor should be maintained in the final examination.
The council for technical education and vocational training will award certificate in “Certificate Level in Medical Health Laboratory Science” to the candidate who successfully complete the requirements as prescribed by the council.
